The company was founded by Willy Herrmann in 1947

In 1959 HERCO developed the first mixed-bed ion-exchange cartridges for regeneration service and built a regeneration station. Today, mixed-bed ion-exchange cartridges are still sold under the brand name destillo.

Since the end of the 1970s, HERCO has been concentrating on membrane technology and manufacturing reverse osmosis installations for various applications, such as for hemodialysis purposes. Reverse osmosis, nanofiltration and ultra filtration installations are nowadays a major part of the HERCO product range. In addition to an extensive range of standard installations, we offer custom-tailored installations with standardised components. This allows us to manufacture tailor-made installations at short notice with an excellent cost-benefit ratio.

In the middle of the 1990s, we decided to support and deliver only to water treatment companies, plant construction companies and OEM customers.  Our customers are advised by project engineers from headquarters. This guarantees a high level of professional competence.

The state-of-the-art facility in Freiberg/Neckar has 80 employees.
